We’ve used a variety of data sources and web scraping techniques to compile a database of 2000+ CBD products in the UK.
Through AI and data science we have tagged all 2000 products with attributes such as price(£), strength(mg), volume(ml), CBD format, CBD type giving the most comprehensive view of the UK CBD market to date.
On top of product data, we have layered our own transaction data and other sales signals such as product reviews and search traffic, resulting in a holistic understanding of which type of CBD products consumers are buying
We can analyse our data set to understand how the CBD oils market is distributed.
For example, we can see full-spectrum currently makes up the largest percentage of the CBD market as measured by number of products. Interestingly, 0mg-500mg CBD oils are priced slightly more expensive than 500mg to 1000mg. We can see that 500mg CBD strengths are more prevalent in the market and so we see likely a few brands are driving the average RRP of these low strength oils up.
Every product on our database is tagged with attributes including CBD type, CBD format, pricing, strength and quantity. To tag thousands of products with the correct attributes we utilise our proprietary pipeline.
At the top of our pipeline we ingest thousands of product names, online URLs, descriptions, and pricing.
We then use our in-house developed AI tool, which is capable of understanding how brands describe their products, to extract key features. We can accurately extract product strengths, quantities and whether it is full spectrum, broad spectrum or isolate.
To ensure our AI tool has performed to high precision, we perform multiple cross checks using our CBD domain blog, and by comparing our data to other trusted sources. We finally manually review and check a sample of our data to provide an additional layer of assurance.
